About the role

We are seeking an Autobody Painter to join our production team. This role involves preparing and painting vehicle components, including chassis, cabs, beds, and other parts. The ideal candidate will have experience in autobody painting, surface preparation, and general paint shop duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepping and painting vehicles, parts, and components.
  • Filing, grinding, blasting, and sanding automotive surfaces using power and hand tools.
  • Operating sandblasting equipment with various media.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly handling and maintaining company tools and equipment.
  • Working closely with the Paint Shop Manager to coordinate schedules and identify additional repair needs.
  • Performing general shop cleaning and adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Operating shop tools, equipment, forklifts, and occasionally driving company trucks.
  • Ensuring work meets ATC’s quality standards, manufacturer guidelines, and technical manuals.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialized training in autobody repair or painting is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an autobody shop, maintenance, or production environment.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, walk, pivot, push, and pull for extended periods (5+ hours per day).
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
